17% of job opportunities within the UK are now directly attributable to relevant skills shortages, so why are we not even tapping into the female skills pool? A recently carried out research shows that problems initiate in class. Young girls traditionally go for English and Art subject areas instead of Maths and Physics, thereby closing the doors to numerous science and technical occupations – where the job opportunities in the foreseeable future will most likely be.
